Manitoba's largest anime convention came back to town this weekend. Song, dance, and even bingo were part of Saturday night’s festivities at Aikon.

The anime convention is held at the RBC Convention Centre all weekend. The event celebrates Japanese animation, comics, video games, costumes and much more.

People who went say it's a great opportunity to dress up as one of their favourite characters.

"It's a party atmosphere,” said Jeffrey Arndt, dressed as Shiro from Log Horizon.“There's a lot of playing around to do. Not only are there viewing areas to maybe watch the anime you've been hearing about, rewatch something that you're fond of, or just cool down a little bit, but there's a lot of playing going on."

The event wraps up Sunday with the marketplace and closing ceremonies at 3 p.m.
