The main runway at the Richardson Airport re-opened Thursday.

The runway was shut down at the end of April for an $8 million renovation.

The 3.5 kilometre runway has new asphalt, lines and lights. As well, the airport now has its two main runways back in action.

Winnipeg neighbourhoods who have dealt with increased air traffic and more noise this summer should now find things return to normal.

The airport's other main runway will likely be resurfaced in about seven years.
