Head of the Red Regatta is an annual racing tradition that welcomes local athletes and visiting teams to compete on the Red River.
Spectators can watch the race at no charge.
The race, hosted by the Winnipeg Rowing Club and the Manitoba Rowing Association, began at 9:00 a.m. Saturday and will continue to 3:00 p.m.
The fastest crew in each category will receive an award. The overall fastest female and male scullers in single boats will receive a monetary prize as well.
