Coupon enthusiasts should use caution when trying to use coupons purchased from online distributors such as Couch Commerce, TeamBuy and Dealfind, the Better Business Bureau warns.
The company that owns the distributors, collectively known as the couch group, has filed for bankruptcy, although vouchers can still be purchased from the company’s website.
The bureau says it has 27 disputes pending and has received another 202 complaints about the distributors, collectively known as the Couch Group. Customers have complained that some merchants are refusing to honour the coupons, saying the Couch Group owes money.
CTV has obtained documents listing all of the companies owed more than $250, including 44 Manitoba businesses. Their combined losses exceed $50,000.
