The Winnipeg Blue Bombers gave up 28 points in the second half and put up just 137 yards of total offense in a 36-8 loss on Saturday night at Investors Group Field to the defending Grey Cup champion Calgary Stampeders.

"Obviously the production we had wasn't good enough to win the game. You go in 8-3 at halftime and you have a real shot. We let this one slip through our fingers," said Blue Bombers Head Coach Mike O'Shea.

O'Shea pulled starting quarterback Robert Marve in the fourth quarter and replaced him with Brian Brohm to try and spark the team but it didn't work.

Marve completed 12 of 20 passes for 94 yards while throwing 2 interceptions. He attributed the Bombers poor offensive numbers to a lack of any "explosion" plays.

"We never got in rhythm," said Marve.

The Bombers visit the winless Saskatchewan Roughriders next week in the Labour Day Classic.

Mike O'Shea did not commit to Robert Marve as the team's starting quarterback for that game.

Fans showed their discontent with the Bombers on Saturday, even booing the team at times. O'Shea was asked about it after the game.

"That's painful."

"They keep coming out. It's tough to expect them to keep coming out when we put up a second half like that," said O'Shea.
