Mayor Brian Bowman is confident the Waverley-Taylor underpass will get done on time.

Bowman believes councillors asking for more information on the project will have their questions answered by administration.

It was stopped in its tracks this week when the infrastructure committee refused to approve funding for the $155 million project. Instead councillors put the matter over for 60 days to get more information.

A report to council says if preliminary work does not proceed by the end of the month it could delay construction and inflate the cost of the underpass.

But the mayor says timelines can still be met, even if approval is pushed to February's council meeting.
