Single-family homes
Recycling, garbage and yard waste will be collected as normally scheduled for those with Tuesday as a collection day.

Winnipeg Transit

Winnipeg Transit will be operating on a Sunday schedule for Tuesday, July 1.

Special Canada Day service includes:

·         A FREE Canada Day Shuttle service will operate from 12:00 noon until 12:00 midnight linking Downtown, The Forks and Osborne Village.

·         Extra Route 11 Portage buses will be operating between The Forks and Assiniboine Park from 12:00 noon until 11:00 p.m. Regular transit fares apply.

Post-Fireworks departures:

·         The Forks: buses will be available on Main Street between York and Graham.

·         Assiniboine Park to Downtown: buses will be available at eastbound Portage Avenue at Overdale Street.

·         Assiniboine Park to St. James/Assiniboia areas: buses will be available at westbound Portage Avenue at Overdale Street.

The Animal Services Agency will be closed on Tuesday, July 1.  Regular hours operation for the Animal Services Agency resume on Wednesday, July 2.

Manitoba Liquor Mart operating hours on Canada Day, Tuesday, July 1

All Winnipeg Liquor Marts will be open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., except for Cityplace and Pembina Village Liquor Mart Express. which will be closed. Most Liquor Marts outside of Winnipeg will be operating on their regular Sunday schedule, except for Brandon West End Express, Winkler, and Steinbach which will be closed.

Canad Inns Picnic in the Park

Where: Assiniboine Park

When: Starts at 1:00 p.m.

What: The event will include children’s activities, including clowns, magicians, tattoos, balloons, face painting, games, and inflatable rides. Children’s activities run until 6:00 p.m. Citizenship Canada will hold a special Canada Day citizenship ceremony for new Canadians. Opening ceremonies at 3:30 p.m. followed by Canada Day cake.
 

Canada Day at The Forks

Where: The Forks market, Scotia Bank Stage

When: Starts at 12:00 p.m.

What: The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet will perform, the local alt-country singer Del Barber will team up with the WSO for a special performance. For the second year, the Railbridge Stage sound system will be powered by bike and pedal power. Volunteers are needed throughout the day to help power the stage throughout the afternoon. The site will include family-friendly activities, including an obstacle course, life-size Guess Who and Jenga games, and a free photo booth.

CMHR Human Rights Day on Canada Day

Where: Canadian Museum for Human Rights

When: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

What: The CMHR will offer free outside tours of the museum on Tuesday, July 1. The 30 minute walking tours will examine the history of human rights all around us, including French language rights and Indigenous treaty rights, and include a discussion about the CMHR and its architecture. The tours will depart from CMHR's Canada Day booth located behind the Museum near the Esplanade Riel.
 

Osborne Village Street Festival

Where: Osborne Street

When: June 30 from 6:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. and July 1 from 11:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.

What: Enjoy extended patios, music stages, handi-craft and nick nacks, a shopping village, food vendors, and children’s activities, featuring inflatable bouncers, obstacle courses, child entertainers and pony rides.
 

St. Norbert Farmers’ Market

Where: 3514 Pembina Hwy.

When: Starting at 4:30 p.m.

What: Local reggae act RasTamils hits the stage at 9:30 p.m. and the Métis Infinity Square Dancers are on tap before then at 4:30 p.m. There will be fireworks, there will be cake, and there will be pony rides.
 

Oak Hammock Marsh

Where: 1 Snow Goose Bay, Stonewall

When: 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

What: Celebrate Canada day at the Marsh. Bring the family for an exciting day of outdoor fun, face painting, and crafts. Cupcakes will be served at 2:00 p.m. Horse-drawn wagon rides from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
