Organizers with Winnipeg's Christian Holiness Mission were shocked to find their school buses vandalized.

The vandals smashed windows on the bus Friday night and came back the following night.

The timing is extremely unfortunate, said Janice and Ron Carriere. They say they don't have insurance on the bus because they were waiting for the inspection to pass its yearly review.

The group serves meals to the homeless and has been active in Winnipeg for 20 years.

“We are reaching out to the community and we are trying to help the community to be better people,” said Janice Carriere.

She said she has no anger towards the people who vandalized the bus. “If they were getting their lives changed, they wouldn't be doing this kind of work, this kind of vandalism.”

The Carrieres say they don't how they are going to get enough money to repair the bus.

Police say they are aware of the incident. This kind of damage can lead to mischief charges.
