The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a recall for ‘Flight of Cheese’ trays sold at Safeway stores in several Canadian provinces, including Manitoba because of a risk of listeria contamination.

The recall, issued Friday, applies to cheese trays prepared in store that may contain Yanni brand Hand-Braided String Cheese Olive Oil Garlic & Herbs, Yanni brand Hand-Braided String Cheese Original, and Gopi brand Paneer.

It affects products purchased on or before September 17 in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.

CFIA says this recall began in another country and an investigation is underway to see if it should be applied to any other products as well.

According to CFIA, there have been no reports of illness caused by these products in Canada.
