The City of Winnipeg’s protection and community services committee approved a report Monday morning that recommends renewing the photo radar contract for another seven years.
The cost of the program is just under $21 million, and would include an upgrade to digital technology.
Critics say the money should instead be spent on more officers on the streets.
The photo radar program must still be approved by the full city council.
