Hundreds of bicycles are up for sale once again at the city’s annual bike auction.

Unclaimed two-wheelers will be up for grabs this weekend at Century Arena, 1377 Clarence Avenue. Around 400 bicycles will be auctioned off Saturday, and around 300 on Sunday.

Among those being sold are 250 ready-to-ride bikes tuned up through the Winnipeg Repair Education and Cycling Hub (WRENCH) UpCyle employment training program. Money from those bids goes toward supporting community bicycle programming across Winnipeg.

All bicycles are sold as is and no warranty is provided.

Public viewing hours for Saturday are 7:00-8:45 a.m., auction starts at 9:00 a.m.; and Sunday from 10:00-11:45 a.m., with the auction starting at noon.

Cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Interac payments will be accepted. Cheques will not be accepted.

One-time Bicycle Registrations will be available on site at a cost of $6.30 per bicycle. This will ensure that, should the city recover a bike, the owner will get it back with no additional charges.
