The Canadian Museum for Human Rights announced a star-studded lineup will perform during opening weekend celebrations in September.

The two-day festival, dubbed Rights Fest, starts on Saturday, Sept. 20. The festival kicks off with the Canadian Concert for Human Rights on an outdoor stage at The Forks.

The line-up includes folk singer/activists Bruce Cockburn and Buffy Sainte-Marie, First Nations electronic group A Tribe Called Red, rapper Shad, east coast fiddler Ashley MacIsaac, and Polaris Prize-nominated singer Marie-Pierre Arthur.

The concert will be broadcast on television and the web through a partnership between the museum and Rogers. APTN will also broadcast the concert.

The museum has organized more than 25 performances and activities over the weekend.

Visitors can sign up for preview tours of the museum. Details on how to sign up will be announced in late August.

Regular paid admission will begin Sept. 27.
