Two pedestrians went to hospital following a collision on Regent Avenue, said police.

The incident happened at 12:15 a.m. Feb. 27, 2015 in the 1500 block of Regent Avenue.

Officers had been called to a restaurant in the area for a man and woman refusing to pay their bill.

“Prior to police arrival, the couple left the business in an intoxicated state and proceeded to cross Regent Avenue near Stapon Road in northbound direction,” said police in a press release. “They successfully crossed all east and westbound lanes until they were struck by a westbound truck travelling in the curb lane.”

A 41-year-old woman went to hospital in critical condition and has been upgraded to guarded, said police. A 38-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is listed in stable condition, as of Friday morning.
