Emergency crews rushed two pedestrians to hospital after a vehicle struck them on Thursday night.

Police said a vehicle struck two pedestrians on the road at Jarvis Avenue and McPhillips Street around 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 18.

Paramedics rushed a 70-year-old woman to hospital in critical condition, while a 60-year-old man went to hospital in stable.

"Early investigation by members of the Central Traffic Unit has revealed that a vehicle travelling in the southbound lanes of McPhillips struck the two pedestrians who had been attempting to cross westbound," said police. "The driver has been interviewed and was released with no charge, pending further investigation."
