Winnipeg fire crews were called to the scene of a fire in the city's Point Douglas neighbourhood early Wednesday.
Fire officials responded to the blaze on Granville Street around 3 a.m.
The one and a half storey home, which police said they believe is vacant, had smoke coming out of the eaves when firefighters arrived.
Damage is estimated at $170,000.
Police said they had no reports of any injuries.
