A massive search for a missing fisherman continued on Lake Manitoba Tuesday.

Two men from Sandy Bay First Nation were fishing out on the water near the community of Langruth when their boat capsized on Monday evening.

A 25-year-old man managed to make it to shore, while the second man, 22-year-old Dillion Beaulieu, could not be located after going into the water Monday.

"It's very difficult. It was a shock when I found out it was him," said Maureen Beaulieu, Dillion's cousin.

Locals know Dillion Beaulieu as the hosts of radio show on the First Nation called Chillin' with Dillion.

Search crews said the winds picked up so quickly on Monday that the two men wouldn't have had time to get the boat to shore safely.

"That wind came up in a very big hurry," said Sheldon Strocen from Lakeview Fire Department.

Community members and search crews from multiple organizations, including RCMP and the Canadian Forces, were out looking for the missing man. A Hercules aircraft was dispatched from 17 Wing in Winnipeg to aid in the search.

Friends and family are helping with the search and people aren't giving up hope.

"He may be clinging to the boat. He may be suffering from hypothermia on the shore. A person doesn't know – there's always hope," said Strocen.

Maureen Beaulieu said she will also continue looking for Dillion and is optimistic her cousin will be found alive.

Sandy Bay First Nation Chief Irvin McIvor said about 200 people are involved in the search. On Monday afternoon, he said no trace of Dillion Beaulieu had been found.
