Drew Caldwell to seek re-election in Brandon East

Another longtime NDP MLA will seek re-election on April 19.

Drew Caldwell has announced his plan to run again in Brandon East. He was first elected in 1999.

A former city councillor in Brandon, Caldwell has served as Minister of Education, Training and Youth; Minister of Family Services and Housing and Minister of Municipal Government.

“Drew has always been there to listen to hard working, middle class families in Brandon East and stand up for their interests,” said party leader Greg Selinger in a news release Thursday.

Ahead of the upcoming spring election, several long-serving New Democrats have announced their resignation, including Gord Mackintosh and Jennifer Howard.
