A Duffy’s Taxi driver is off the road again, as an investigation into allegations he propositioned a female customer takes another turn.

The company was forced to issue a correction Monday, admitting they had mistakenly told the public that a Manitoba Taxicab Board investigation had cleared their driver of any wrongdoing.

On Sunday, Duffy's manager Ram Valluru released a statement saying the investigation had found "no wrongdoing" and that the driver's suspension had been lifted.

A spokesperson for the company blamed the error on miscommunication between Duffy’s and the board.

“Due to a miscommunication between Duffy’s Taxi and the Taxicab Board, we erroneously informed you that the TCB had concluded their investigation. The TCB is continuing their investigation, and the driver under investigation has had his suspension reinstated,” said the spokesperson in a statement to CTV News.

On Nov. 6 around 3:30 a.m., Patricia Nosal said she got a Duffy’s cab from the Exchange District. On the way home, she said the driver asked if she would like to make some extra money.

When the cab dropped her off she said she saw another cab waiting by her house. She said a passenger got out and said he’d heard she wanted to make some extra money.
