Gimli RCMP said two dogs attacked an eight-year-old boy while he was waiting for a school bus last month.
The incident happened on March 25 in the RM of Gimli.
The RM's mayor said one dog grabbed the boy's leg and when he tried to get away, it latched on to his back ripping through his jacket.
The boy suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
RCMP said local animal control was dispatched and two German Shepard-mix dogs were seized. The dogs escaped from their yard.
Both have since been put down.
No one is facing charges in the incident, said police.
