A 91-year-old woman was asleep when an unknown number of people broke into her house in Portage la Prairie earlier this week, RCMP said.
Police received a report of a home invasion on Tuesday, Sept. 23. Police say sometime overnight, the woman was robbed of several items, including her purse. The woman was not injured.
A man now faces charges in the incident. Bruce Kenneth Neilands, 38, of Portage la Prairie faces several charges of mischief, break and enter, theft under $5,000, theft of a credit card, fraud and failing to comply with a probation order.
Police are still investigating.
