Winnipeg police are looking for a man who allegedly groped a child at a restaurant.

Around noon Saturday, Winnipeg police received a report of a sexual assault in the 100 block of Isabel Street.

Police say officers met with the 11-year-old victim and her mother. The two were at a restaurant when an unknown man “inappropriately touched” the girl, said police.

The mother confronted the man, but he ran away.

The suspect is described as a 35-year-old white man, approx. five foot nine inches tall (175 cm) with a slim build and an unshaven goatee.

He was wearing a black tank top and black jeans that had chains hanging from the pocket.

The child abuse unit is investigating.

Anyone with information regarding this matter or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-3296 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
