City crews will soon be back out spraying for the bugs that carry Dutch elm disease.

The Elm Bark Beetle Program will continue on May 30, the city said in a news release.

The city completed all of Insect Management Area (IMA) 11 – which includes the neighbourhoods of Norwood East, Norwood West and Glenwood – except for Windsor Park.

The next round of spraying will cover IMAs 11, 13, 14, 18 and 21, in these areas:

-      Glenwood, Norwood East

-      Norwood West

-      Alpine Place

-      Elm Park

-      Lavalee

-      St. George

-      Varennes

-      Worthington

-      Kingston Crescent

-      Minnetonka, Norberry

-      Pulberry

-      Victoria Crescent

-      Maple Grove Park

-      Normand Park

-      River Park South

-      St. Vital Centre

-      Vista, Agassiz

-      Cloutier Drive

-      Fort Richmond

-      Montcalm

-      University of Manitoba

The trucks will head out between 5:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The crews will spray a chemical product called Pyrate 480 EC (Chlorpyrifos) onto the bottom 50 centimetres of tree trunk.
