The family of a missing Manitoba man joined Portage la Prairie’s Pride March on Saturday to show support for the community.

Colten Pratt, 26, went missing from downtown Winnipeg in November 2014.

Pratt, who is from Portage la Prairie, is gay.

“We wanted to be here to support my son, ‘cause he can’t be here with us,” said Lydia Daniels, Pratt’s mother. “So we’re here to walk for him. It’s been a tough day. So we’re here to bring our information about Colten forward and keep him in the public mind.”

The family is also looking for any new clues as to what could have happened.

The family said Winnipeg police still consider this a missing person's case. They met with police Friday to discuss new details.

This November marks two years since Pratt went missing.

“It’s been tough. It doesn’t get easier. You miss him more and more as the months go by. But we try to remain positive. We have our faith, and prayers and thoughts from  a lot of people.

Pratt was proud to be a gay man, said Daniels.

“Yes he was, and he never hid it from anybody, and it was awesome when he came out. It allowed him to be more free, and I believe that a parade like this, a Pride parade, allows the LGBTTQ community to have the freedom to be who they are.”
