The family of Johnathen Felix spent Sunday afternoon canvassing the area where he was killed over three months ago.

Johnathen’s body was found on March 31 in a yard in the 200 block of Balmoral Street. He was just 21 years old when he was shot to death.

“Johnathen was brutally taken from us. He wasn’t naturally taken from us,” said Dolly Felix, Johnathen’s aunt. “Nobody in life deserves to die this way.”

Dolly spent the day postering the neighbourhood and talking to neighbours, hoping to encourage someone with information to come forward.

Police said they are still investigating the case but have very few leads. “When we’re dealing with investigations of this nature, we want to make arrests as quickly as possible,” said Const. Jason Michalyshen. “We want to hold people accountable and in this particular case, it’s no different.”

Dolly said Johnathen’s friends and family are still grieving their loss. Dolly comes back to the area Johnathen was killed often, talking to anyone she can in hopes of finding answers.

Dolly said she’s “hoping somebody has a heart – hoping somebody feels bad – either makes a phone call to me or to the police.”

And she’s determined to make sure no one forgets Johnathen. Dolly plans to hold a rally and march sometime in the near future.
