Winnipeg Fire Service responded to an early morning fire on 33 MacLean Crescent.

At 5:55 a.m. a call came in in regards to a fire at a power house on the University of Manitoba campus.

On the U of M Facebook page, it stated that the fire started in the south side area of the power house, the area where refrigeration equipment is housed.

At the time of the fire, the boilers were shut down. According to the post, two have since been restored.

As a result of the fire, the heating system on campus may be affected.

The post is advising staff and students that Parking lot D is currently difficult to access due to service vehicles.

There is no word on the cause or estimate of damage of the fire. Engineers are on scene assessing damages.

There is no word on any injuries.
