Construction crews working on city streets found more than what they were looking for below the asphalt.

Workers at Portage and Sherbrook discovered some old street car tracks just inches below the road’s surface.

Back in March, crews discovered another set of street car tracks on Osborne. Those were exposed due to a pothole from this year's harsh winter.

Between the 1880s and 1950s, an extensive streetcar network grew and was used in Winnipeg. The cars were taken off the tracks in the city in 1955.
