A warning to drivers, as gas prices in Winnipeg are expected to jump by close to 10 cents per litre by Friday.

Senior petroleum analyst Dan McTeague with GasBuddy said the price hike could force Manitoba drivers to pay slightly more than one dollar for a litre of gas.

McTeague expects prices to increase in Winnipeg first before spreading to other places in the province.

He says the increase is a result of speculation of a deal that will cap crude oil production in Algeria.
