A string of robberies and assaults mainly targeting cab drivers in the West End led to charges against a 21-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl.

Between December 31 and January 2, police responded to multiple calls of assaults, robberies and property damage.

 In the first incident on December 31, a male and female victim robbed and threatened a cab driver near William Avenue and Ellen Street, said police.

The next day, a man stabbed and robbed a cab driver near Elgin Avenue and Gertie Street, police said. The driver suffered minor injuries.

That same day, several vehicles in the area of Elgin Avenue and Ellen Street were damaged.

In one incident, a man threatened to kill the vehicle owner, said police. In another incident, an area resident was stabbed, suffering minor injuries, said police.

Again on the same day, an armed man robbed a cab driver near William Avenue and Isabel Street.

Around 7:30 p.m. on January 2, a male and female suspect tried to rob a customer at a convenience store at the intersection William Avenue and Isabel Street, said police. Officers responded and arrested two suspects near Isabel Street and Bannatyne Avenue shortly after.

Police charged Kevin Schoffer, 21, with multiple counts of robbery, assault with a weapon, and mischief under $5,000. He also faces charges of disguise with intent, uttering threats, two counts of possessing a weapon, six counts of failing to comply with a recognizance and five violations of a probation order.

A 16-year-old girl also faces multiple charges, including robbery, disguise with intent, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon and uttering threats.
