A whistle stop rally to improve passenger rail in Canada made its point early Monday morning.

Arriving almost five hours later than scheduled, Green Party leader Elizabeth May and supporters rolled in to Union Station after midnight

The Green Train Tour kicked off Friday in Vancouver. The groups is travelling by train across the country and have faced a number of delays.

May said it's just one example of the challenges facing passenger rail in Canada.

"We should be investing in certain corridors in high speed,” said May. “We should be rebuilding our rail beds. We should have a reliable modern train system."

The tour is on its way to Fredericton for the Green Party convention Thursday.
