Hazmat crews were called in to assist firefighters at the scene of an industrial park fire on Saturday morning.

The City of Winnipeg said firefighters responded to a call about a fire at 555 Hervo Street just after 9:00 a.m. An alarm came from Univar Canada Limited.

Smoke in a warehouse containing hazardous materials prompted firefighters to call Hazmat for assistance. Bags containing triallate, a herbicide used to kill weeds and bugs, caught fire.

Crews remained on scene into the afternoon and police were redirecting traffic in the area.

The city said no one was injured in the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
