It’s time to get your Iceland on Manitoba!

For the 125th year the town of Gimli is inviting tens of thousands of people to come celebrate the northern country during ‘Islendingadagurinn’ or Icelandic Festival of Manitoba.

The three day festival starts Friday at 3:00p.m. when the MTS Viking Village opens its doors.

A numbers of events are planned over the weekend including the unveiling of at 13,000lb commemorative Runestone.

Manitoba is home to the largest population of Icelanders outside if Iceland.
