The Office of the Fire Commissioner has determined the cause of a blaze that hit a West End apartment building last week.

Two children had to jump from the building in the 400 block of Young Street on March 27. The two children and their mother were treated in hospital. Everyone else made it out safely.

Fire commissioner investigators determined the blaze started when a combustible material came into contact with a baseboard heater.

Damage to the building is estimated at $750,000.
