The Winnipeg Jets beat the Montreal Canadiens 5-2 at MTS Centre Thursday, despite being badly outshot.

Ondrej Pavelec was the star making 39 saves.

Dustin Byfuglien returned to the lineup after missing nine games with an upper body injury, and scored the game’s opening goal.

The Jets now have 90 points on the season, and remain in the final wildcard position.
