More Manitobans are at work, according to Statistics Canada.

The provincial jobless rate is down half a percentage point.

In employment numbers issued by Statistics Canada Friday morning, Manitoba’s unemployment rate went down to 5.2 per cent in September from 5.7 per cent in August.

The economy added 6,000 new full time jobs while dropping just 2,000 part-time jobs.

Nationally, the jobless rate went up slightly to 7.1 per cent.
