Winnipeg's mayor says all he wants is an apology from a university paper he's suing over an op-ed. Katz is suing the student-run University of Winnipeg paper, The Uniter, for a column on the fire hall scandal.
In the lawsuit, Katz claims the column makes him out to be a criminal who is evil and belongs in jail.
The mayor says all he wants is a retraction.
“All we've asked is an individual and a publisher to do is basically retract and apologize,” Katz said Wednesday. “I don't think you would call that taking on. I would say that makes sense.”
None of the allegations in the mayor's lawsuit have been proven in court.
