A kitten that lost its leg after she was found near some train tracks is doing well and looking for a home.

Dr. Jonas Watson at the Tuxedo Animal Hospital said someone brought the 10-week-old kitten in last week. Someone found her near tracks south of Winnipeg with a mangled leg, which vets had to amputate, along with part of her tail.

It’s unclear if her injuries were caused by a train, Watson said.

Despite her injuries, the cat is doing well and can even walk around on her remaining three legs, Watson said. Staff at the clinic named her Trip.

“She’s doing well, but she needs a home,” Watson said.
