Late-night collision with wildlife on Manitoba highway kills motorcyclist

GROSSE ISLE, Man. - A motorcyclist has been killed in a collision with a deer in Manitoba.

RCMP say the 48-year-old Winnipeg man died at the scene when the crash happened late Tuesday evening on Provincial Road 322, just north of Grosse Isle.

Officers arriving at the scene discovered the rider and the motorcycle on the road and a dead deer in the ditch.

The man, who was heading south at the time of the accident, was wearing a helmet.

Police say alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the collision.

The victim's name has not been released.
