Winnipeg police have arrested a suspect in connection with a string of armed robberies dating back to the beginning of December.

The robberies started on Dec. 7, 2012 and for the following four weeks, police say a male wearing a disguise robbed businesses all over the city.  The suspect robbed ten places on Main St., Marion St., Osborne, St. St. Mary’s Rd, Regent Ave., Henderson Hwy., and McPhillips St.

Police say the suspect confronted workers with a weapon and in total, $11,000 dollars in cash and property was stolen.

39-year-old Rene Yvon Gaudet is facing several breaches of court orders and robbery related offences.  He remains in custody.
