Police charged one man with causing a disturbance and released another man after receiving a report about a possible gun sighting at Polo Park.

The call came in at approximately 12:20 p.m. about two men, each possibly armed with a gun. Police found both men shortly after getting to the mall.

One of the men made gun gestures with his hands and body, imitating shooting towards shoppers at the mall, said police.

Clinton Peter Osborne, 26, has been charged with causing a disturbance and failing to comply with a probation order.

In a second incident, police found a 41-year-old man carrying an air soft gun which someone had seen in his backpack. Police let the man go with a caution.

Polo Park general manager Deborah Green said Winnipeg police were contacted immediately and both suspects were removed from the property shortly after the first call was received by Polo Park security.

“This matter was resolved without incident, and it is always our highest priority to ensure the safety and security of staffing and guests at CF Polo Park,” said Green.
