The Winnipeg Police Service says a man was taken to hospital in critical condition following an assault in the West End early this morning.
The man’s condition has since been upgraded to stable, police say.
Officers were called to the 300 block of Agnes Street at about 12:30 a.m.
They are focusing their investigation on an Agnes Street home.
The police identification unit and other officers have also taped off locations along Maryland between Ellice Avenue and St. Matthews Avenue.
No further details are being released at this time.
