Winnipeg police have issued an arrest warrant for a St. Theresa Point man wanted in connection with the homicide of 26-year-old Cyril Quentin Weenusk.
Geordie Douglas Wood, 22, faces a second degree murder charge in connection with the incident.
Police describe Wood as an Aboriginal male with dark hair and a slim build.
Police advise anyone who comes into contact with Wood not to approach him and to call police immediately.
In the early morning hours of July 5, police were called to the area of Portage Avenue and Donald Street for a report of an injured person.
An investigation revealed Weenusk, from Oxford House, had a violent altercation with a group of people. He was taken to hospital where he later died.
