The Manitoba government is helping some remote communities build permanent protection against flooding.
The province is giving the Village of Winnipegosis and the Community of Crane River some money for dikes.
Premier Greg Selinger says the government will fund 90 per cent of the flood protection work in Winnipegosis and contribute cash to the reserve at Crane River.
The total cost to the province will be about 600,000 dollars.
