Manitoba New Democrats will have an undisputed leader by the end of this weekend.

Greg Selinger is facing off against MLAs Steve Ashton and Theresa Oswald for the top job.

Delegates chosen by unions, constituency associations and other groups will vote Sunday.

The vote is thought to be too close to call, with suggestions a second ballot may be required.

The winner will lead the NDP into the next provincial election, expected in April 2016.

Many observers felt the leadership race was too close to call on Friday.

Observers believe that no candidate will win on a first ballot because that requires fifty per cent, plus one, of the votes

If a second ballot is necessary, the third place finisher drops out and the two remaining camps will try and woo the losing candidate's supporters.

"There will be people who will be swayed on the convention floor to make their decision," said Chris Adams from St. Paul’s College.
