Manitoba is planning some type of ban on flavoured tobacco.

Flavoured tobacco comes in several forms including cigarettes, chew and cigarillos.

The province plans to make the announcement as early as Wednesday.

Ontario and Alberta are examining similar legislation.

A recent study showed 45 percent of kids from grades 6 to 12 who had tried tobacco in the last 30 days used some form of flavoured item.

Anti smoking advocates say flavoured tobacco leads to an increase in youth smoking.
