After a blockbuster year of global hits, some of Canada’s biggest artists are being recognized here at home. Manitoba’s very own homegrown talents have made the list of nominees.

Among the Manitoba nominees are Don Amero, Big Dave McLean, James Ehnes, Tim Neufeld, KEN mode, and Curtis Nowosad.

Amero is a double nominee this year. His latest recording, Refined, is up for Aboriginal Album of the Year and Adult Contemporary Album of the Year.

McLean’s Faded But Not Gone, was nominated for Blues Album of the Year.

Ehnes was nominated for Classical Album of the Year: Solo or Chamber Ensemble.

Neufeld was nominated for his Trees for Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of the Year.

KEN mode, a metal trio, was nominated for Heavy Metal Album of the Year for their newest release, Success.

Dialectics, Nowosad’s composition, was nominated for Jazz Album of the Year: Solo.

The JUNO Awards will air live from Calgary on CTV on Apr. 3.
