Mayor Brian Bowman has followed through with a promise to place limits on closed door city council meetings.

Last week Bowman's inner circle voted to allow the private debates for internal performance reviews of the city auditor.

However, a clause that permitted "other purposes" was also included in a report attached to the bylaw.

Following a round of tough questions regarding the new bylaw, Bowman backed down and said changes would be made prior to Wednesday's council meeting.

The bylaw now restricts closed door gatherings to performance reviews.
