Winnipeg's mayor and members of the home building industry met over the controversial growth fees issue.

Bowman called for the gathering a week ago after Qualico announced it was halting future development because of uncertainty over a new charge.

The mayor described the meeting as respectful and said they agreed to move forward together, but Bowman admits everyone likely won't agree about the final outcome that needs to be expedited to ensure certainty in the marketplace.

A $250,000 report recommended the implementation of an $18,000 fee on new homes to pay for related roads and services.
