Members of the mayor's inner circle spent the morning grilling CentreVenture over the Carlton Inn land controversy.

Mayor Brian Bowman said CentreVenture's actions surrounding the deal were "not cool."

The city's development wing admits it secured an option with another developer in private at the same time Stuart Olson construction was trying to get a hotel deal done. That hotel agreement was a part of the convention centre expansion.

The executive policy committee did not vote to release Stuart Olson from that agreement for $3.75 million yet, until it gets more information about the other option agreement.

Mayor Bowman wants the land put out to public tender.

EPC also agreed to extend acting CAO Deepak Joshi's suspension for another 30 days.

On Friday, Mayor Brian Bowman suspended Joshi for three days. Bowman said he has lost confidence in the acting CAO.
