It appears the hatchet has been buried over the True North Square spat.

Mayor Brian Bowman has met with True North's Mark Chipman and CentreVenture's Curt Vossen.

The mayor says the meeting was positive and productive.

Chipman put the $400 million True North Square deal on hold after Bowman was critical of how part of it came about.

Bowman lambasted CentreVenture for doing a deal on the former Carlton Inn site with True North when another proposal still existed on the property.

Now, Bowman said no one involved did anything wrong and proper processes in place at the time were followed.

“Concerns have been raised about process but let’s be clear - the processes that were in place at the time were followed. I believe everybody acted in good faith,” said Bowman.

“We can look back or we can look forward. Those concerns have been voiced but now is the time for us to come together to see what we can do together," he said.

True North also issued a statement.

“We are very appreciative of the mayor’s words today acknowledging that True North Sports & Entertainment Limited did, in fact, follow all the proper steps,” said Mark Chipman in the statement.
