Winnipeg police are calling it a "night of mayhem."
Officers are investigating after two groups of men had an overnight fight using machetes.
It happened just after 1 a.m. in a back lane on the 200 block of Pritchard Avenue.
Six men were involved.
One person went to hospital in critical condition, while another went in stable condition.
At least two machetes were recovered.
Four people are in custody.
